The Bustin Collection (G36) is a large collection of Glass Plate Negatives from the family of Richard Britton Bustin, who established photographic studios in Hereford and Ross in the 1850s. The collection comprises some 7,800 plates with subjects ranging from elegant studio portraits to Hereford Bulls and their handlers. In 1986 the Friends of Hereford Record Office decided to finance a project to create master copies of photographs from the plates. Photographer Stuart Webb agreed to take on the project, and over the course of the next 18 years, produced some 5,500 photographs. This collection contains the background notes, invoices, accounts, reports and photographic notes kept by Stuart Webb as the project progressed.
