Whereas a marriage is agreed upon between Robert Edwards and Elizabeth Farloe the daughter of William Farloe. This indenture witnesseth that in consideration of the said marriage and to the intent that a maintenance may be had for Elizabeth Farloe during her life and for the letting, conveying and assuring the messuage or tenement lands and hereditaments hereinafter mentioned and intended to be granted as well by the said William Farloe and Elizabeth his daughter as by the said Robert Edwards to and for the several uses intents and purposes hereinafter limited and declared of and concerning respectively and in consideration of the sum of five shillings to the said William Farloe and Elizabeth Farloe paid by the said Edward Mann and Thomas Sternhold. They the said William Farloe and Elizabeth Farloe have and each of them hath granted bargained sold released and confirmed unto the said Edward Mann and Thomas, in their actual possession now being by virtue of bargain and sale and to them for one whole year by indenture tripartite bearing date next before the day of the date. ALL that messuage or tenement with the backside, garden and orchard hereto adjoining and belonging situate in Altbough in the parish of Hentland, containing about two acres and heretofore in the possession of William Dallow, Cordwainer, as tenant hereof. Also all that close or parcel of arable land or pasture ground containing by about two acres, commonly called the Close between the ways extending at the lower end thereof to the way leading to Altbough aforesaid towards a gate called the New Cross [Yatt] and at the Upper End thereof leading to a certain common field called the Maple Field. And also one parcel of land lying in the said common field called the Maple Field containing about one acre. all which said messuages land etc being in the several parishes of Hentland and Little Dewchurch and now in the possession of William Perkins as tenant. And also all the state, rights, tithe, interest, use, trust, possessions, property, claim, demand, whatsoever of them the said William Farloe and Elizabeth Farloe of in and to the same premises or any part thereof in. To have and to hold the said messuage or tenement and all and singular other herein before granted and released premises unto the said Edward Mann and Thomas Sternhold. To and for the several uses hereinafter detailed limited and appointed as well of and containing the said premises herein before released by the said William Farloe and Elizabeth Farloe as for and concerning the messuage or tenement lands and hereditaments herein aforementioned and intended to be released by the said Robert Edwards. AND this indenture further witnesseth that for the considerations aforesaid and in consideration of the sum of five shillings to the said Robert Edwards in hand paid by the said Edward Mann and Thomas Sternhold. He the said Robert Edwards has granted bargained and sold unto Edward Mann and Thomas Sternhold all that messuage tenement called Poolree with all houses outhouses lands tenements thereto belonging. And also all that close or parcel of land called also by the name Poolree containing nine acres all which said messuage or tenement lands and premises are situated, lying and being in the parish of Marstow and currently in the possession of the said Robert Edwards and with and by the last will and testament of Robert Edwards late father of the said Robert Edwards given and devised to the said Robert Edwards. To have and to hold the said premises hereby granted and released by the said Robert Edwards unto the said Edward Mann and Thomas Sternhold. As for and concerning all and singular premises herein before mentioned or intended to be hereby released by the said William Farloe and Elizabeth Farloe to and for the use of William Farloe and Elizabeth Farloe then to and for the use and behoof of the said Robert Edwards for and during the term of his natural life then to and for the use of the said Elizabeth Farloe the intended wife of Robert Edwards for the term of her natural life then to and for the use of the heirs of Elizabeth Farloe by the said Robert Edwards. And for and concerning the premises before mentioned or intended to be released by Robert Edwards to and for the use of the said Robert Edwards until the said intended marriage shall take effect and from and after the solemnization therof. Then to and for the use of Robert Edwards and during the term of his natural life then to and for the use of the said Elizabeth Farloe for and during the term of the natural life then to and for the use of the heirs of her body by Robert Edwards. And the said William Farloe, Elizabeth Farloe and Robert Edwards do covenant grant and agree with the said Edward Mann and Thomas Sternhold in the manner following. That they the said William Farloe and Robert Edwards grant release unto Edward Mann and Thomas Sternhold and further also that the said several messuages intended to be granted and released by the said William Farloe, Elizabeth Farloe and Robert Edwards shall remain continue and be unto the said Edward Mann and Thomas Sternhold. And further more that they the said William Farloe, Elizabeth Farloe shall within three months levy and acknowledge unto the said Edward Mann and Thomas Sternhold.
