The Design Statement is an initiative of the Village Society, following the guidelines for Village Design Statements published by the Countryside Agency. It was produced after extensive consultation with residents, businesses and organisations in Colwall, as well as statutory bodies such as the Parish Council, Herefordshire Council Forward Planning Dept., Malvern Hills Conservators and the Malvern Hills AONB. It was endorsed for material consideration when dealing with planning matters by Herefordshire Council. The document is extensively illustrated and presents the insiders view of Colwall, both historically and as it is today. It gives guideline for future development that have been agreed by all parties concerned.
