  • Thesis submitted for the degree of MPhil at the University of Southampton. The Aconbury Cartulary is housed at The National Archives, Kew. It contains copies of nearly 100 grants of land and property to the nuns of Aconbury from 1216 to 1314. The thesis gives a modern reading of each charter. The introductory chapters give a social and economic description of the nunnery. The grants are also studied in a geographical and social context. Herefordshire Archives holds a copy of the Aconbury Cartulary on microfilm X3.
