  • Ledbury Grammar School opened in September 1923 in the former residence of Mr Waldyve Martin, Upper Hall, with 18 acres of grounds, purchased by the Herefordshire County Council. In 1978, the old Grammar School building became the John Masefield Junior Department. The school closed in 1991 and was transferred to a new, purpose-built site and was re-named John Masefield High School.
