The County Youth Drama Festival was established by the Herefordshire Education Committee “in order to encourage among young people a love of good written and spoken English.” It++other intention was “to increase their experience and knowledge of the theatre . . . [and] to measure the standard of their work by playing in new conditions before audiences and by seeing the work of other Youth Groups.” (Programme Forward 1955.)
