┆The documents in this collection was originally organised according to Alphabetic lists of Places used by the Bishop of Hereford's Clerks, Stewards & Lawyers.
They were then given a serial number, probably in the mid-nineteenth century. These are shown in curved brackets. This sequence was based on being alphabetical by Parish, with Tithes or property listed under each parish, but with inconsistencies.
Subsequent County Archive cataloguing divided the documents by Parish, primarily. However, all of the Properties or tithes included in a lease were not necessarily in the same Parish, & so some parishes in the list have suggestions to search other parishes for further information.
