Material relating to the Rotherwas Munitions Factory... Material relating to the Rotherwas Munitions Factory, 2015-2017
Three items collected as part of the Rotherwas Royal Ordnance Factory Project, consisting of a 2015 report by Historic England: 'First World War National Factories; An archaeological, architectural and historical review', a book compiled following a site visit to the Royal Ordnance Factory remains as part of the project and an Order of Service from Bobby Blackwell's Funeral.
The Rotherwas Royal Ordnance Factory Project was a lottery funded project that ran between 2016 and 2018 to collect stories and material associated with the Royal Ordnance Factory Complex that existed in Rotherwas in both the 20th centuries world wars and run workshops with local schools to discuss the history of the site.
This is a collection of three items that were donated to the project, that were subsequently deposited at HARC for safe keeping.
One of the items is a report written by English Heritage on the national network of munitions factories, one is an unpublished book presumably written by somebody involved in one of the education sessions consisting of photographs and notes from a visit to the factory site. The third item is an order of service from the funeral of Bobby Blackwell, who had been instrumental in recording interviews with some of the munitions factory workers.
